ADMISSION INTO THE INSTITUTION

Admission into VoTech (S7) ACADEMY is open to all citizens willing to acquire the basic skills and knowledge needed for them to enjoy welfare, be productive and strive towards self-actualisation. In line with our mandate, we heartily encourage the following citizens who fall in any of the following categories, to seek admission into our institution.

  1. Persons from disadvantaged backgrounds/communities like the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are currently affected by the ongoing sociopolitical and economic crisis in the restive NW and SW Regions of Cameroon.
  2. School dropouts wishing to pursue nationally and internationally certified skilled-based training.
  3. Special categories of persons like housewives, house helpers and single mothers wishing to pursue nationally and internationally certified skilled-based training.
  4. Any other category of persons not mentioned here.

Admission Requirements

  1. A Manila flat file
  2. A photocopy of Birth Certificate
  3. Two (2) passport size photographs
  4. An Acceptance Slip for class 6 pupils
  5. Report Cards for students from other schools
  6. Result slips for those seeking admission into Lower Sixth
  7. A broom and a floor rag

Note

  1. Anyone paying fees must know and give the full names of the student as they appear on his or her Birth Certificate.
  2. After payment, the parent, student or guardian must submit the receipt with a photocopy to the Finance Department of the institution which will confirm that such payment has been made.
  3. Fees are paid in two instalments. The deadline for the payment of the first instalment (70% of the fee) is the 31st of September 2022, and the deadline for the payment of the second instalment is the 31st of January 2023.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

A. Sports

All students must take part in sports unless medical reasons indicate otherwise. A Medical Certificate is required to excuse any student from sports. In addition to the jersey class colours listed below, students are advised to get tennis shoes and boots for sports.

B. Clubs

All students must identify with a club of interest to them like Entertainment Club, Health Club, Agriculture Club etc, and actively take part in the activities of the club in order to develop other essential skills.

We, therefore, invite you God Almighty, to journey with every member of VoTech (S7) Academy daily, because unless you build us, we labour in vain. Unless you watch over our institution, promoters, administrators and staff, they work in vain. Through the intercession of Pa Elias M. Nwana (1933-2021), Patron of VoTech (S7) Academy, we implore you, God, to dwell with us. Amen."

VoTech (S7) ACADEMY was conceived in August 2021 by the proprietor and some benevolent promoters of education as a project of SAMA CARE (a humanitarian social enterprise). The objective of this project is to empower disadvantaged persons like the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) within the community with skills and knowledge in the spirit of the proprietor’s late uncle, Dr Elias M. Nwana’s pursuit to educate all. About him, I write: 

“Poverty, lack of support and little or no career guidance almost prevented my father from becoming the Ace professional in his career as a teacher, if not for the timely benevolent intervention of his benefactor and mentor, his elder brother, my uncle.”

Just like his father, thousands of talented children in disadvantaged communities are scouting for opportunities for empowerment to become productive and self-actualised. Recently, this challenge has been heightened by the escalating sociopolitical crisis in the NW and SW Regions of Cameroon, which has deprived thousands of families of their livelihood as well as shut down hundreds of educational facilities. This is backed by UNICEF’s report of January 2020, which indicates that nearly 900.000 children in the NW and SW Regions of Cameroon have been deprived of education as a result of the crisis.

It is therefore on this mandate of identifying, activating and bringing to bear the rejected and dormant talents of human resources from disadvantaged communities that VoTech (S7) ACADEMY opened her doors to her pioneer students on Tuesday 7th September 2021 as a Technical, Industrial & Commercial Secondary and High School, using a vocational pedagogic approach to empower her human resources.
